Another Great Wedding In 2012

As I stated in my previous post, this past weekend the hubby and I went out of town for a wedding of our two good friends, Fawn and Joe.  It was a Friday evening wedding, which was a different approach to the usual Saturday weddings we're used to.  It was also a beach/bay wedding, which we had never attended before, so that was super nice!  Fawn and Joe picked a gorgeous venue for their special day and although the weather could've been better, it still felt tropical to smell the salty air and see all the beautiful flowers and palm trees everywhere.  PLUS it was really nice to get away and have some adult time...with some adult beverages.

We hit some major DC beltway traffic going down there and despite the on and off pouring rain and our full bladders, we kept on truckin' until we arrived at the Herrington Beach Inn resort.

Stop.  Go.  Stop.  Go.  Stop....ahhh! Drives me nuts!

The wedding started at 5:30pm and we arrived to the resort at 5:05pm.  We still had to find the office, check in, unload the car, change clothes and I needed to finish my make up.  Luckily we were able to do all of that in the short time we had and still make it to the wedding before it started.  It was a gorgeous place to get married!  A gorgeous place to spend a weekend, even with the high winds and hovering rain clouds.  I think we'll be heading back someday, maybe for an anniversary -hoping my husband reads this part :)

Fawn and Joe looked insatiably happy all day!  Oh and I forgot to mention, they actually got married twice on that day.  They had the formal ceremony and after eating dinner at their reception, the minister returned and said that she could not sign the marriage certificate because the county was printed incorrectly.  So the newlyweds had to leave their own reception and drive 8 miles to the county line, get out of the car and say "I do" (AGAIN) to the minister, and then was pronounced man and wife (AGAIN) and the minister was finally able to sign the marriage certificate legitimately.  They were not too happy about having to do that, but luckily they were good sports and wouldn't let a little thing like this mess up their special day!  I'm sure it will be a great story to tell their kids and grand kids someday.  Haha!

Justin and I had a fun weekend getaway together and were so glad to be part of our dear friends' special day!  After the long drive back home, we were anxiously awaiting to pick up our baby girl from Grandma's house!  And as we should've known, she was anxiously waiting for us too! :)

(PS I just noticed your button--it's lovely! I've designed my button, and I'm going to put it on the blog as soon as I have some time (which is about never). So, hopefully, soon.

    1. Thank you, Cassie! It was so very nice. I'm just glad the rain held off, cause no bride wants to use "plan B" for an outdoor wedding, if they can help it :)
